All Students Should Learn A Second Language
Language
means “the method of human communication.” Everyone must
have a language to communicate with people and to survive.
In fact, language is like
life. If you do not have a language you cannot survive.
However, learning and
acquiring a new language is like gaining a new life. When
you gain a second
language, you
have the ability to communicate with different people. and are able to
live in a foreign
country because you could use your second language to survive. So
I believe all
students should learn a second language so that they can communicate easily,
gain more jobs opportunities
and increase their education.
First,
learning a second language helps us to communicate with different people
who speak
different language. It is very wonderful to communicate with people who
have a different
language, culture and knowledge such as American people. American people are
very friendly. They have a different culture from my country. For example, when
I came to the United States, I was uncomfortable. Because when I finished
eating in a restaurant, I left the restaurant without cleaning my table. Because
in my country we usually have special workers to clean the tables. After that,
the casher asked me to clean it. In fact, I didn’t know about their wonderful
culture where everyone is responsible to clean his table. In fact, I couldn’t
communicate with American people, because I didn’t know how to speak English as
well. After studying English, I met with American people and learned more about
their culture.
Next,
speaking a second language makes you qualified to gain more jobs
opportunities.
Many countries need workers who have experience with different jobs
and a second
language to communicate with the visitors and costumers. In fact, if you
speak a different
language, you may have more opportunities to get a great job in your country or
other countries as well. For example, my sister speaks English very well, because
she lived in the United States many years. She acquired a job in Germany as an
English teacher because of her English language. Furthermore, In Florida, most
of the
people who live in
Miami speak Spanish language. That means if you would like to work
in Miami city
you may learn Spanish language. For instance, I had an American friend
who learned
Spanish language in Venezuela. When he came back to the United States,
he already got a
job in Miami city because of his Spanish language.
Finally, learning a new language
helps us to gain new knowledge. As we know,
every country
has its own way to teach, and some subjects that you do not like when you
were in your
country you may like them when you study them in a foreign country. For
example, I was studying in Florida, and I got a mathematics tutor to teach me mathematics.
I understood him when he taught me very well. However, when I was in my country
I did not like mathematics as much as when I study it in the United States. I
liked some of mathematics when I studied In the United States because of the
way that they teach it. In addition, gaining a second language helps us to
acquire new ideas. For instance, when I came to the United States I met American
people, and I told them that I want to buy a new computer, but my city did not
have an apple store. Then they told me that I can buy whatever I want by the
Internet, and it will be delivered to me as soon as possible. In fact, it was
in my country we do not usually use the Internet to buy our needs.
In
conclusion, language is the only method to communicate with people, it
is
essential for everyone to have a language to survive. In
fact, it is useful for students
to learn a second language to gain more jobs opportunities
in foreign countries. In
addition, when you learn a second language your education
will increase and you
will acquire new knowledge. Additionally, when all students
acquire a second
language the world may change and will improve because the
knowledge will move
from country to another country by the communication.
